Custom Web Design for Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium

In 2025, the City of Kingsport approached Intellithought about a website redesign for Bays Mountain Park and Planetarium. We were thrilled to take on a project for one of Kingsport’s favorite spots!

Bays Mountain Park is a 3,750-acre nature park and planetarium. Opened in 1971, it features a 44-acre reservoir, over 40 miles of hiking trails, a nature center with a planetarium theater, a fire tower, and animal habitats.

The redesign scope of work consisted of:

• Responsive layout with brighter colors and modern fonts that complement Bays Mountain’s updated branding.
• A mobile-first approach where users can load the site quickly from their phones, locate content, and get driving directions to the park.
• Events calendar
• Content imports and training of Bays Mountain staff for content updates
• Necessary 301 redirects for pages that had their URL changed during the redesign
