Branding for State Theater


In November 2019, Kingsport native and auto repair business (The Body Shop) owner Mark Hunt purchased the historic State Theater property from Urban Synergy. With the pandemic pushing back work in 2020, work started to pick back up at full speed in 2022. In late 2022, Mark approached Intellithought with requests for a new logo, social media management, and website to promote the theater’s progress.

Mark planned to restore as many of the design features of the original theater as possible so it only made sense to keep the branding as consistent with the theater’s original marquee sign as possible. Intellithought delivered a vector logo with variations for print and web uses that can work at any size.

The plans for the new theater include not just movies, but concerts and comedy shows as well. A roof-top entertainment area is also in the plans and they aim for Spring 2024 opening.
