In 2022, Holston Medical Group (HMG) launched an initiative to enhance the functionality and user-friendliness of the “Find a Doctor” tool on their current website. Intellithought’s development team worked with Holston Medical Group to custom-develop a PHP-based search with geo-location and filter features into their existing WordPress site.
First, improvements to HMG’s doctor management in the admin were made to allow administrators to custom sort the order of multiple locations for doctors and set the main location for them. The feature to identify which doctors were accepting new patients was also developed in the admin area.
Custom filters were also developed for both the list and map views to help users find the perfect doctor for their needs.
Geolocation and map view functionality was also integrated so users can search for providers near their location and get directions.
The Intellithought design team worked with HMG’s design team to create a responsive layout that integrated nicely with the existing style of the rest of the site
