Matthew W. Cleek

President

My background ranges from hard labor to executive management. Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to work with many industries including construction, chemical, coal, power, manufacturing, radio and more. Each new initiative has required steady leadership, creative thinking and innovative problem solving; attributes I am always working to grow. Today, I spend the majority of my time on process improvement, directional leadership and customer relations.

Process Improvement: It is easy to get caught up in the day-to-day activities of projects without keeping the house in order. At INTELLITHOUGHT, we want to make it a priority to spend time analyzing and improving the way we do business. This extends from financials to work flow to equipment and every area of the company. We believe that if we are effective and efficient for ourselves, it enables us to provide more effective and efficient services to our customers.

Directional Leadership: INTELLITHOUGHT seeks out the brightest and most capable individuals to join our team. In order to retain such a motivated group of employees and ensure that the services we provide exhibit the level of excellence by which INTELLITHOUGHT desires to be known, leadership is key. Leadership among such a talented group of people means establishing direction, making sure the right person is on the right job at the right time and serving their needs to ensure that they have every opportunity to succeed. We are currently working out a plan to begin cultivating leadership skills in each and every employee.

Customer Relations: INTELLITHOUGHT is a services company. Through the years of success we have been blessed to experience, one common thread shows itself to be true: building quality relationships is more important than anything else we do. For that reason, I will continue to serve as an account manager and consultant for many of our customers. I believe that it is of utmost importance for everyone at INTELLITHOUGHT to maintain a constant, first-hand pulse on the customer experience.

Matt Lay

CIO/Chairman

My career began as an Applications Tester in 1998. Since that time, I have served INTELLITHOUGHT as a Project Manager, Team Lead, Account Manager, Network Services Director, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, and now, Chief Information Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors. I believe that personal success is most securely attained by enabling those around you to be as successful as possible – both customers and teammates. It is my job and passion to focus on customer service, leadership, and a commitment to excellence.

Customer Service: INTELLITHOUGHT helps growing companies continue to focus on the things that they believe will drive success within their organization. We provide the technical tools and professional resources to help customers enhance efficiency and gain a competitive edge in the marketplace. INTELLITHOUGHT will never ask a customer to change their proven processes to work with our product. INTELLITHOUGHT’s team of professionals will tailor our offerings to compliment your approach.

Leadership: I’ve heard it said that “everything rises and falls on leadership.” I believe that this is true and will continually seek personal growth in this area. Additionally, I want INTELLITHOUGHT’s entire organization to become a team of leaders at work, home and all areas of life.

Excellence: This era has seen many technical services companies come and go. What sets INTELLITHOUGHT apart? We take the time to know our customers, understand their business, and meet their needs as opportunities arise. We are committed to this approach and will be the best there is at growing relationships and providing high-quality solutions. When you work with INTELLITHOUGHT, you are working with professionals.

Brenda Nichols

Director, Human Resources

I have been a part of the INTELLITHOUGHT team since its inception in 2000. I helped establish the Human Resources Department for the newly-organized company as well as the policies and procedures for HR activities. I have been a member of the Northeast Tennessee Society for Human Resource Management since 2001. In December of 2002, I obtained the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute.

Prior to joining INTELLITHOUGHT, I was manager of the Records Department at the Kingsport and Gate City branches of Olsten Health Services. It was during this time that I developed an interest in Human Resource management. When presented with the chance to become a part of the start-up company at INTELLITHOUGHT, I took advantage of the opportunity for a career change.

Outside INTELLITHOUGHT, I enjoy scrapbooking and traveling with my family. Originally from Rose Hill, Virginia, I now live in Hiltons. I am married and I have three children.

Tammy Salyers

Manager of Finance

I began working with Tele-Optics in December of 1998 in preparation for INTELLITHOUGHT’s startup. Since Intellithought’s inception in 1999, I have served in several positions such as Payroll Clerk, Accounting Clerk, and Office Manager. I am currently the Finance Manager, a role I have filled for three years. I was instrumental in setting up all facets of the business in 1999, including the 401k Plan, medical benefit packages, commercial insurances, Payroll, the accounting system, and business processes. I continue to serve the company by managing the financial aspects of the business today.

Prior to INTELLITHOUGHT, I was an Account Manager with Quebecor Printing for 18 years.

Outside of INTELLITHOUGHT, I am continuing my education in the Accounting field by attending night classes at Northeast State Technical Institute. My husband and I reside in Kingsport where we are raising our middle school-aged daughter.
